Mission:
Guild Incorporated exists to help people who have mental illness to lead quality lives. Services are provided to adult residents of Ramsey and Dakota Counties. We help those who have the greatest difficulty with basic daily activities and who have persistent symptoms that are not easily relieved. Most often, the individuals we serve have schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder or another psychiatric illness. The majority of individuals served have co-existing diagnoses related to psychoactive substance abuse and other physical health challenges. They have histories of multiple hospitalizations and face other complications such as poverty, homelessness, social isolation and unemployment.
Guild Incorporated believes that the life each person has beyond his or her illness is of much greater importance than the illness they face. Each person has special strengths, interest, aspirations, and abilities, the development of which is the key to recovery.
We are reaching our mission when individuals served:
Have safe, affordable housing in which to live,
Find suitable employment or pursue education,
Maintain their optimum physical and mental health,
Have recreation and socializing opportunities,
Have and report a sense of satisfaction with their quality of life, security and hope for the future.
Program Description:
Guild Incorporated provides psychiatric rehabilitation services that are essential to support recovery for those experiencing mental illness of a severe nature. Services are provided in-vivo, in the community where needed, rather than in an office. As an individual's needs change, services increase or decrease. Flexible, strengths-based services help prevent the loss of housing and employment. Community alternatives to hospitalization are used whenever possible.
The following are programs of Guild Incorporated:
Guild Employment Services: Helps individuals who have mental illness find, get, and keep suitable employment that meets each participant's abilities and preferences. The service gives careful attention to the matching of individuals with the settings and supports they desire and need in employment.
Please contact our Employment and Rehabilitation Services Supervisor to learn more about the eligibility requirements of Guild's Employment Services at 651/457-2248 ext. 13.
Other Programs offered by Guild Incorporated include:
Delancey Street: Engages people who have long histories of homelessness compounded by problems of mental illness and substance use. The program helps homeless individuals achieve increased levels of stability and satisfaction with their lives, while encouraging the autonomy of independent living.
Guild Community Support Program: Assures the full array of psychiatric rehabilitation services essential to support recovery. Individuals can "drop-in" at the Community Support Center to participate in social & recreational opportunities, pursue education or employment, apply for benefits, connect with peer support resources and prevent crises.
Guild Residential Services: Includes treatment services provided in home-like settings, and offers permanent housing resources. Guild South is a residential treatment program, staffed 24 hours daily with two components. 1. Maureen G. Heaney Guest House--a crisis stabilization program which helps individuals in psychiatric distress stabilize in the community without becoming homeless, and whenever possible, without hospitalization. 2. Guild South on-going residential treatment--provides longer-term services, needed by some to re-gain stability, strengthen independent living skills and develop coping strategies.
Guild St. Paul Area: Includes multi-disciplinary teams, including case managers, nurses, employment speicalists, and psychiatry, to help individuals have safe, affordable housing in which to live, maintain their optimum physical and mental health, develop and enhance skills to meet the challenges of daily living, pursue employment or education, develop personal support systems, and have a sense of satisfaction with their quality of life, and hope for the future.
