  • Mission:

The Life Skills Program in Le Center, was created to offer functional Reading, Writing and Math skills for a population of students who are within the Mild/Moderate and Moderate /Severe Cognitive Ability, and are unable to function within the General Education classes. Job training skills, and work ethic are demonstrated daily within the Life Skills Co-op training of our High School Lunchroom. Many of the Life Skills students will work within the Food Service Industry upon their own graduation from high school. The training gained from the Life Skills Lunchroom Co-op will help this population of students with a background of entry level skills within the Food Service Industry.

    Program Description:

The Life Skills Program in Le Center, was created to offer functional Reading, Writing and Math skills, along with a work component for a population of students who are within the Mild/Moderate and Moderate /Severe Cognitive Ability. Le Center's Life Skills Students are unable to function successfully within their General Education classes, so a curriculum of functional classes based at the student's ability level along with basic job training done within the school lunchroom create a perfect blend for the Life Skills Program.
