Mission:
The Grant County DAC/Pope County DT&H offers or provides employment and employment-related services designed to increase integration into the community, increase productivity, increase income level and improve the employment status or job advancement of the persons we serve. Community integration services are provided and designed to increase and enhance each person’s social and physical interaction with non-disabled individuals. Training tasks and materials are age-appropriate and skills being taught enable the person to perform an activity of daily living that would have to be performed for the person, if the person did not have the skill. Opportunities for interactions and activities with non-disabled individuals (not paid caregivers) are offered and skills are taught in a variety of settings that increase the persons ability to use that skill in a natural environment.
Program Description:
We typically serve adults with Developmental Disabilities. Our current focus is DT&H/DAC (Day Training & Habilitation) services. Our current emphasis is on providing employment and job training skills. We have an established program for our Sr's also, focusing on leisure activities and attending local community Sr. Citizen events and activities.
Currently we are working on developing a Transition program for typically DD youth going from the public school system into real independent life.
